Seventy-two street lights in the Town of Batavia have switched over to LED. National Grid says the changeover is the largest LED street light conversion completed by National Grid in Western New York.
The company says the town should see long-term cost and energy savings as a result of the conversion.
The street lights were retrofitted as part of National Grid’s Outdoor Street Lighting Conversion Program and was completed in May.
For LED conversion, the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) offers grant initiatives to local governments through its Clean Energy Communities program. More information can be found, here.
