Batavia City Council Meeting Has Big Turn Out

Local News

More than a hundred people turned out to Batavia’s city council meeting tonight to urge councilors to write and send a letter in opposition to Governor Cuomo’s reproductive health act, an abortion rights bill.
More than two dozen others, many backing planned parenthood, argued it was not the city council’s place to take a position on abortion.
According to several in attendance, the council did not make clear its position, but did agree to take up the issue at its next meeting.
