Bah Humbug! Mount Morris man continues Christmas tradition

Local News

Mount Morris is a town primed for the holidays. Except for one man right neat the high school.

“I like to do things different once in a while.”

Butch Leone has his own style of outdoor decorating. A sign over his garage that reads, “Bah Humbug.”

“A lot of people like it when they go by,” he says. “Some people say the scrooge is alive and well in Mount Morris.”

The Bah Humbug sign goes right up when the season starts, which is marked by his wife Cheryl.

“The first time she puts up a Christmas decoration, that comes up,” said Leone.

With the school across the street, there’s plenty of banter to go around.

Some of the kids at the Mount Morris High School have told the couple that on quizzes, they’ve had a question asking who has the Bah Humbug sign.

As far as inside his home goes, the Leone’s have three trees, and even a village model of the town.

But how does Butch feel about that?

“I’m not really grumpy, people think I am, but deep down, I’m a good guy!”
