Frigid temperatures are in the forecast – and the Open Door Mission in Rochester is getting ready to go into Code Blue mode.

A Code Blue is announced when temperatures fall below 20 degrees.

We’re told that they have added an additional 40 beds to their dining area to increase their capacity.

Guests will be able to get food and have access to bathroom facilities between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

“These temperatures in Rochester get pretty bad and we obviously know there are people outside,” said Chris Scribani of the Open Door Mission. “Some choose to be out there, some choose to find a place that’s warm, so we have to be available.”

As of Wednesday, the Open Door Mission say they are in Code Blue through Friday evening.
