MJS Productions will present an “Artist Showcase and Award Presentation” Friday night, April 1 at Rochester’s Hochstein School of Music and Dance beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Melany Silas, the owner of MJS Productions which is celebrating its fifth anniversary, discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Noon.
Mathew Knowles, the father of Beyonce and manager of Destiny’s Child, will deliver the keynote address. Destiny’s Child was named the Best Selling Female Group of All Time in popular music, collecting nearly 200 awards and selling over 100 million records. Knowles is currently a professor at Texas Southern University, instructing “Introduction to the Recording Industry and Artist Management.”
Aspiring and working musicians, dancers, singers and the like will have the opportunity to learn and interact with an industry insider during a Q&A session.
In addition, twenty-three of Rochester’s best in music, art and dance will receive awards, along with showcasing their talents.
