ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — After rainy weather forced organizers to cancel the festival on Monday, the Lilac Festival was back to work on Tuesday.
As of noon, when the festival kicked off for the day, not many people were out at Highland Park.
Vendors we spoke to say they’re prepping up for folks who may come to the festival during the lunch hour. Musical performances will go on as scheduled. In fact, we saw a family from the village of Holley camped out in front of the stage to see their kid’s school performance.
“Nora has a partial solo and we’re looking forward to it,” said Marsha Palermo. “She’s in the Holley chorus.”
Some of the grass parking lots at Highland Park will still be closed due to the build-up of mud. But they are running shuttles from the other parking locations.
