Western New York is no stranger to snow, and yet, there’s a need for people to adopt-a-hydrant in Rochester.
Throughout the winter, residents are urged to help keep fire hydrants clear of ice and snow. Hydrants left covered create a hassle for firefighters and put many lives in danger.
On Sunday, the Rochester chapter of the World Mission Society Church of God cleaned up hydrants on Exchange Boulevard. Their mission was to encourage others to do the same.
Fantasia Hunt said, “Anybody and everybody can adopt-a-hydrant. We want to keep the city clean.”
