Local News

A benefit for brain cancer research was held Thursday night at Oak Hill Country Club.

The annual “Adding Candles for a Cure” is organized by “Adding Candles,” a non-profit volunteer organization founded to fund brain cancer research.

In the two year’s the organization has been advocating for brain cancer research, they have raised $125,000 for research at the Wilmot Cancer Institute at URMC.

“Obviously, our main goal is fundraising. There’s no question about that,” says Adding Candles President Lois Warlick-Jarvie. “But, this event is as much for people who’ve been touched by brain cancer, as it is them helping us with growing the event and growing the funding for research. “
