The Greece Performing Arts Society will present “The Addams Family” at Rochester’s Lyric Theatre October 26 through November 4.
Riley and Sadie Ball play two of the extended Addams Family members. They discussed the upcoming shows Monday during News 8 at Noon.
“We’re the family,” said Riley. “We come back from the dead basically. They have a night every year where they celebrate with us, and then we end up wanting to go back to our crypt every time, but what happens is Wednesday – the daughter – falls in love, and we aren’t allowed to go back until love triumphs, so we have to help her fall in love.”
Sadie Ball is the only performer in the show who is in middle school. “It’s really cool being with adults, because it is a totally new experience for me,” she said. “It’s harder for me because it’s for adults, but it just gives me more room to grow with it.”
Much like the famed TV show, which both Riley and Sadie took some time to watch recently, this staged performance of “The Addams Family” will produce plenty of laughs. “I think it is a hilarious show, and our cast is so funny,” said Sadie.
Riley added, “There’s a bunch of different weird characters in the show, and they all make different appearances and have their own time to make it funny, and there is a really good story line too.”
It’s the perfect show for the Halloween season. For tickets and more information, visit GreecePerformingArts.org.
