The Rochester American Diabetes Association has once again earned its place in the top 5 fundraising Tour de Cures in the nation. Fundraising for the June event extends to December 31, in which the nonprofit expects to cross $1M.
Last week the nonprofit celebrated this success and recognized top fundraising teams, individuals, most improved team and Rookie team of the year.
Top 3 teams included Midtown Athletic Club’s Team Chain Reaction ($77,753), Constellation Brands’ Team Constellation Riders ($60,131), and UR Medicine ($42,274).
Top three individual fundraisers included Jay Wright ($35,226), Howard Kravetz ($9,496), and David Lamb ($7,326).
The Most Improved Team was Manning and Napier, which grew from 37 riders in 2014 to 83 rides in 2015, a 124% increase.

The Rookie Team of the Year award went to Amiels Original Submarine, with 42 first time riders combined to raise $14,231.
Top sponsors, included 2015 Title Sponsors, Sage Rutty and Manning and Napier. In addition, top sponsors donating $10,000+ were Excellus BCBS, Gallo and Lacovangelo, Rochester Regional Health System, DiMarco Group, and Walmart.
1,865 riders participated in the 2015 Tour de Cure and the event experienced an 83% increase in total team fundraising ($23,019 to $42,058).
