After nearly 32 years on the job, Chuck Stadler is retiring. A steady stream of firefighters stopped by the headquarters on Monday to congratulate Stadler on a job well done. Stadler said it’s a brother and sisterhood like no other.
“I worked with them for a long time. They’re good people. There’s no other organization like the fire department. They’re a special group of people and I’m going to miss them,” said Stadler.
Stadler joined the Rochester Fire Department after a stint with the Rochester Protectives, a volunteer firefighter assistance program, 35 years ago.
Stadler said he’s kicking off retirement with a three week vacation.
