Local News

NORTH ROSE, NY (WROC) — A woman is dead after flames ripped through a home on Caroline Avenue in North Rose on Friday.

Crews were called to the home around 11:40 a.m. after a neighbor heard popping. Inside the home, firefighters found a 61-year-old woman dead in a recliner seat.

Officials say the woman, who was on oxygen and had issues walking, lived with her husband, but he was at work at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but firefighters say it may be related to the oxygen tanks.
