Around 150 people gathered downtown on Wednesday night to make over 300 cards for sick children.
It was part of the fourth annual Cards for a Cause.
Tara Thomas, the founder of the event, brings people together around the holidays to make special cards for kids in need. This years cards will be given to kids through Cards for Hospitalized Kids and four local organizations.
“The organizations have told us and the kids have told us that this has brightened their holiday and made them feel more love. Especially for those that are going through hard times that we’re so blessed and for some kids who are in the hospital or kids who are in the shelter this is a little light for their day to make them feel loved by the community.”
Thomas says the number of people that participate has grown each and every year.
