Local Girl Scouts write book on avoiding stereotypes

News
Webster, NY (WROC)-  Some local Girl Scouts are helping to make a difference in the community.  Ten 3rd and 4th grade Girl Scouts from Troop 60672 came together to write a book on not using stereotypes.  They went to Plank Road South Elementary in Webster to read the book to a 2nd grade class.

The book was written and illustrated with the help of two local authors and the Veterans Outreach Center’s Art Therapy Studio.

“They worked hard at it and they did an outstanding job, and they really did it all on their own,” said Troop Leader Laura Stradley.  “They had very little guidance as far as how to word things, and they really did it on their own.  So, they did a great job.”

The troop will be donating their printed book the elementary school library.
