The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote shortly on moving forward with the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. This vote will give a go-ahead for a full Senate vote.

The vote comes in the wake of emotion testimony Thursday by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who accused Kavanaugh of a sexual attack.

UPDATE (1:58p): GOP’s Flake says it would be `proper’ to delay a Senate floor vote on Kavanaugh for a week.

UPDATE: Senators approved a motion to move forward the confirmation.
