Nazareth Elementary School hopes for new playground by next fall

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) - Nazareth Elementary School in Rochester is hoping for a new playground by the fall and it needs the community's help.

The old playground was torn down a couple of weeks ago thanks to a surprise donor. The students can now enjoy recess outdoors for the first time since moving to the building on Flower City Park last year.

"Children need exercise for learning," says Sr. Margaret Mancuso, principal. "So if you have a healthy body you have a healthy mind. And to me a healthy heart and soul too."

The school already has designs in place for the new playground. It is two-thirds of the way to its $75,000 fundraising goal. You can donate online towards the playground.
