Five people shot, two killed within hours in Rochester

Three shootings Thursday night in Rochester left two people dead and three others injured.

It all started Thursday evening on Wilkins Street near Hudson Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Police say two men were shot on the street and rushed to the hospital by private vehicle.

Hours later, around 8 p.m., two men, ages 20 and 22, were shot in the area of Genesee and Hawley. One of those men is in critical condition, the other suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Also around 8 p.m., a 17-year-old boy was hurt in a shooting on Thomas and Weeger streets.

All three shootings are under investigation.

In a separate case from last week, 38-year-old Tremaine Coley of Rochester and 38-year-old Delvern Duran were arrested for the murder of Tasmere Kenard last week on Lyell Avenue.
