BUFFALO, NY (WROC) — Less than two weeks after his former operating officer pleaded guilty to wire fraud charges, Bob Morgan is at federal court in Buffalo Wednesday morning.
At this time, News 8 is unable to confirm what business Morgan is attending to in court. But, federal authorities have planned a news conference for Wednesday afternoon.
It’s also unclear if that news conference is connected to Morgan in any way.
On May 13, former Morgan Management operating officer Scott Cresswell told investigators, as part of a plea deal, that Morgan directed him to inflate repairs costs for insurance claims made for development properties in the Rochester area, following the 2017 windstorm. Prosecutors say Cresswell also faked documents to increase the bill totals for properties in Indiana and Pennsylvania.
Cresswell’s conviction followed the indictment of Morgan’s son and nephew last year as part of a separate fraud scheme related to the development company. In that case, Todd and Kevin Morgan, along with two other men, were accused of misleading financial companies to obtain larger loans for development properties.
Kevin Morgan pleaded guilty late last year on those charges.
