At around 11 a.m. officers with the Rochester Police Department responded to the 700 block of Smith Street for a ShotSpotter activation — a block away from Orchard and Jay. Once they arrived, officers said their subsequent investigation took them to the 500 block of Jay Street.

There, officers located and arrested a 32-year-old Monroe County resident. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second and third degree.
