ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 37-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after crashing into a vehicle Sunday afternoon on Seneca Ave., according to Irondequoit police.

Irondequoit police say just before 3 p.m., a motorcycle was travelling southbound on Seneca Ave. when at the same time, another motorist was crossing Seneca Ave. westbound and Northfield Rd.

Police say the motorcycle struck the vehicle, causing it to spin around and the 37-year-old motorcyclist was ejected.

Emergency personnel took the motorcyclist to Strong Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

The 25-year-old driver of the vehicle was not injured. Police add the driver stayed at the scene and is being cooperative.

Irondequoit police say at this time, no tickets have been issued and it appears speed may have been a factor in the accident.
