ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Fire caused extensive damage to a vacant home on Ames Street Wednesday.

Officials responded to 521 Ames Street around 4:30 p.m. and said the fire started in the back of the 1st floor. The Truck and Rescue companies performed a search of the structure and found no one inside.

RFD says there was extensive fire damage to the rear of the home and to the first and second floors. No one was injured during the incident, an investigation to determine what caused the fire is underway.

Investigators say the home next door also had a fire last year and that fire has been deemed arson.
