‘Bonfire of the Vanities’ author Tom Wolfe dies at 87

Celebrated writer Tom Wolfe died Monday in a Manhattan hospital.

Wolfe – who penned “The Right Stuff” and “Bonfire of the Vanities” – was 87. His publicist confirmed Wolfe’s passing for the New York Times.

Wolfe had lived in New York since joining the staff of the New York Herald Tribune in 1962.
