ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A 29-year-old Rochester man was found dead early Friday morning and officers are investigating the scene.
Officials with the Rochester Police Department said officers responded to Wilkins and Carter Streets around 3:45 a.m. on Friday for the report of an assault. RPD’s Major Crimes Unit and paramedics were called to the scene as well. Those responded said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Saturday, officers identified the victim as 29-year-old Daniel Baldwin. Police said there are no other injuries that they are aware of, but the investigation is ongoing. The area streets were blocked off with police tape.
The RPD identified the suspect as 32-year-old Yazmin Moody, 32, of Greece, and took her into custody without incident. She was charged with murder in the second degree.
According to the RPD, Baldwin and Moody were known to each other.
“This is not a domestic related murder,” the RPD said.
