Closing arguments begin in case of Fairport man accused of killing ex-girlfriend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and stabbing another man in Canandaigua took the stand in his own murder trial on Wednesday.

William Fricke of Fairport is accused of killing Julianne Baker and stabbing attorney Dennis Gruttadaro back in January of 2020.

Fricke pleaded not guilty to a total of 11 counts, including two counts of first degree murder and two counts of first degree assault. He faces 20 years to life in prison if convicted.

The trial began last week and closing arguments are expected to begin Thursday.
