Rochester utility companies barred from shutting off service during state of emergency

ROCHESTER N.Y. (WROC)- The city of Rochester issued an Emergency order Saturday baring local utility companies from cutting off service to occupied houses.

The declaration, signed by Mayor Lovely Warren, includes but is not limited to gas and electric companies.

The order also extends Rochester’s real property tax deadline to April 30, 2020. Property owners will not face any penalties or interest.
