New legislation would allow businesses to repurpose relief fund

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Congressman Joe Morelle introduced new legislation on Wednesday aimed at helping locals cope during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The State Operations Stabilization Act would expand the coronavirus relief fund, which was recently enacted as part of the CARES act.

Local businesses would be allowed to use the money provided as a replacement for lost revenue to the pandemic.
