$12 million given to University of Rochester for new physics center

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The University of Rochester will get more than $12 million for a new physics center.

Senators Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand made the announcement on Thursday. The money is part of a five year agreement between the school and the National Science Foundation.

It will be used to establish a Center for Matter at Atomic Pressures and will also contain educational and outreach efforts.
