Melanie Higgins is currently a news producer for WROC, but her journey humbly began in 2021 as an intern at the station. Now, she spends her days producing, primarily the nightly news, though on occasion she will put together a (fantastic) morning show.
Though, even before her time at the station, as a graduate of SUNY Oswego (‘22), she made quick use of her time at the on-campus station, WTOP. There, she played the role of nightly news executive producer, among a number of other things. Her time at Oswego ended fast, complete with a special recognition from the Syracuse Press Club Awards, to which she is most thankful.
Nowadays, when she’s not spending time gushing over her cat, June, she’s likely writing about people near and far, the good and the bad, and of course, the Buffalo Bills.
Oh yeah, she’s a Bills fan now.
