Christine grew up in North Syracuse, NY where she’s lived her entire life. Science has always been her favorite subject growing up and has always been fascinated by the always changing weather. Despite growing up in one of the snowiest cities in the country, her favorite type of weather tends to happen in a much warmer season; thunderstorms! Her favorite thing about living in New York State is experiencing the changing seasons and different types of weather it has to offer.
She went on to pursue her love for weather at SUNY Oswego where her initial interest for broadcast meteorology was sparked when she joined the school’s student run news station WTOP-10. During her time in college she was able to intern at every news station in Syracuse, and got a chance to go storm chasing in the summer of 2019 where she saw her first tornado. She graduated May 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology and a minor in Communication and Social Interaction.
When she’s not checking on the weather she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and two dachshunds. She also loves traveling, music, and is always in the mood for a good Lake Ontario sunset. Christine is excited to start off her broadcasting career in Rochester, and can’t wait to be a part of the community and WROC News 8 family.
