Carl joined the News 8 Sports Team in September of 2021.

He is a Cleveland, Ohio native and completed his undergraduate studies at Syracuse University where he also played football from 2016 to 2020. Carl obtained his master’s degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications shortly thereafter.

In addition to his passion for telling the stories of local athletes, Carl loves fitness, video games, and healthy debates on Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James.
