Atyia Collins joined the NEWS 8 team in April of 2019 as a reporter. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University, in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in film with a concentration in documentary filmmaking. Atyia spent a year and a half with Nexstar station WBOY in Clarksburg, West Virginia before coming to Rochester.

While in college, Atyia interned with WLYN-TV in Hazelton, PA, and at Jigsaw Productions in New York City. In college, she worked part-time with Big 10 athletics filming Penn State sporting events to broadcast over the Big 10 network. After college, she freelanced with WHVL in State College, PA filming baseball games before accepting her position at WBOY.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Atyia loves the outdoors. When not reporting she enjoys running, playing the piano and cooking.
