Ally Peters joined the News 8 team in April of 2021 as a reporter and anchor. She graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Ally spent all four of her college years working at KOMU TV, where she began her career as a journalist.
After graduating, Ally spent three years as an evening news anchor in Wausau, Wisconsin at WAOW. She spent a lot of time working with the community’s Down syndrome community and was awarded for her live on-scene reporting from the Wisconsin Broadcaster’s Association.
Ally grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, not too far from Rochester, MN! When she’s not at WROC, Ally enjoys spending time with her husband and their adorable Samoyed, Nala! She also loves to attend theatre performances, travel internationally and try out new vegetarian recipes.
If you see Ally around town, please don’t be a stranger! She always welcomes new story ideas and is excited to get to explore the Rochester area.
