AJ joined the News 8 sports team in December 2019 and is thrilled to be back in Western New York.
AJ is a Buffalo native and graduated from Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications. While in school, he had multiple internships in Ithaca, Los Angeles, and even Rochester. In 2016, he reported for the Western New York Flash in their final season as they won the NWSL championship. In 2017, he interned right here at WROC, assisting with local coverage, the Sabres, and Bills training camp.
After graduating college, AJ bundled up and headed to Northern Minnesota to work at Lakeland News. After starting as a news and sports reporter, he was quickly elevated to Sports Director. AJ reported on high school sports, Bemidji State athletics, and got to experience everything the region has to offer. This includes anchoring live sportscasts outside at Hockey Day Minnesota, a Winter Classic-type event where local teams played games on the shores of Lake Bemidji in temperatures as cold as 26 degrees below zero. AJ’s fingers are still thawing out but it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
While not filming local games or telling the important stories of Rochester, AJ enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing sports, and exploring his new home city.
