Dixon, who led all scorers with 19 points, hit both shots from the charity stripe to break the 60-60 tie. Just 34 seconds earlier, the Yellowjackets' Zack Ayers made a layup to even the score.
The game was close throughout with Roberts Wesleyan having the largest lead of just 10 points at the 17:11 mark in the second half. Both teams led three times in the game.
Perhaps the most telling stat is points off of turnovers with Roberts Wesleyan having the edge of 10 points to Rochester's three points as both teams turned the ball over just six teams.
Dixon, who scored 19 points, was 7 of 12 from the field and 5 of 8 at the free-throw line. The forward also had five assists for the Redhawks.
The only other scorer in double-figures was William Bromirski, who had 11 points as he shot 50% on the night, going 4 of 8 from the field and 3 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Rochester's Tyler Sankes led his team with 14 points after hitting 6 of 10 shots from the field.
As a team, the Redhawks shot 43.6% from the field while holding Rochester to 37.9%.
The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 5-3 on the season as they now prepare to take on the College at Brockport in the final tomorrow evening at 8pm inside the Voller Athletic Center.
Roberts Wesleyan's last appearance in the Wendy's College Classic final was the 1999-00 edition when they fell to St. John Fisher College, 78-75. Their last title came in the 1967-68 season.
