Pendrith Wins Monroe Invitational

- Taylor Pendrith eagled the par-5 12th to take a two shot lead and never looked back to win his first Monroe Invitational by two shots Saturday at Monroe Golf Club.

Pendrith fired a final round 69 to finish at 11-under for the week. Adam Svensson was second at 9-under after a final round 66. Daniel Stringfellow and Garrett Rank tied for third place at 8-under. Rank began the final round tied with Pendrith for the lead at 10-under par.

Trevor Sluman was the top Rochester finisher in 7th place at 6-under par. He shot a second consecutive even par 70 in the final round. Gavin Hall finished with a disappointing 73 on Saturday and ended up 21st.

Pendrith followed the eagle at 12 with a birdie at 13 to stretch his lead to three shots. A three-putt bogey briefly cut the lead to two shots over Rank, but Rank finished with a pair of bogeys and Pendrith was able to win with a stress free bogey at 18.

Pendrith's name now goes on a trophy that already features big name PGA touring pros like Dustin Johnson and Chris DiMarco.

"This tournament has so much history," Pendrith said. "This is my third time here now and it just keeps getting better every year. To add my name to those guys who've won the tournament in the past, it feels awesome."
