Tyler Ennis announces he plans to enter NBA Draft

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse University freshman Tyler Ennis has announced he plans to enter the NBA Draft.

The SU guard released the following statement through the university on Thursday afternoon:

“I’d like to thank Coach Boeheim, the coaching staff, my teammates and the amazing fans of Syracuse for the opportunity to play at a great university like Syracuse,” said Ennis. “I feel this experience has helped prepare me to fulfill my lifelong dream – to play in the NBA.”

The 6'2" guard from Brampton, Ontario averaged 35.7 minutes, 12.7 points, 5.6 assists, 2.1 steals per game for the Orange this season.

His older brother Dylan plays guard for Villanova.

In the hearts of SU fans, Ennis will most likely be remembered for his buzzer-beating three-pointer against Pittsburgh on Feb 12.

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden called Ennis to congratulate him on the the shot that made ESPN's Top Plays.

Recently, he was featured on the cover of a special edition of Sports Illustrated.
