Syracuse a No. 3 seed in NCAA Tournament, plays W. Michigan on Thursday in Buffalo

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse Orange are the No. 3 seed in the South Region of the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

SU will face No. 14 Western Michigan on Thursday afternoon at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo.

The game is scheduled to begin around 2:45 p.m. It will start following the conclusion of the Ohio State - Dayton matchup, which tips at 12:15 p.m.

This is the Orange's 37th NCAA Tournament appearance and the 31st for coach Jim Boeheim.

Syracuse has been seeded third in the tournament at total of six times, including this tournament.

The Orange were the No. 3 seed in 2003 and went on to win the school's only national championship.

SU and Western Michigan have played twice before and Syracuse won both meetings.
