SU men's lacrosse season is over after Bryant upsets Orange

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The season is over for the Syracuse University men's lacrosse team.

The Bryant Bulldogs upset the Orange 10-9 in the NCAA Tournament game at the Carrier Dome on Sunday.

SU was down 5-4 at halftime and was finally able to tie it at 7 with 10:32 to go in the fourth quarter after a goal by Randy Staats.

Bryant scored the next two goals, before Syracuse's Kevin Rice put one between the pipes to make it 9-8 with 3:56 to go.

With 2:51 to go, Bryant scored to make it 10-8.

Rice scored with about seven seconds left to pull the Orange within one goal.

SU's Chris Daddio won the final face-off  and Dylan Donahue was able to get a shot off with about two seconds left.

However, Bryant goalie Gunnar Waldt made his 13th save of the game to secure the victory.

Bryant will face Maryland in the next round.
