NHL star Shane Prince back in town

SPENCERPORT, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - New York Islanders winger Shane Prince returned to his roots this week.

The Spencerport native is in town working with Rob Sedia from New Edge Hockey, to stay in shape during the Islanders bye week.

The fourth year NHL pro is coming off of a high ankle sprain that kept him out of the season until three weeks ago.

He's in a contract year, so Prince needs a big finish.

But that didn't keep him from taking a trip home.

"I like to come home," said Prince. "I love it here, especially to be able to skate in the rink that I grew up playing in. It's always cool. I just like to get home and see my family, spend time in my house. We don't get to spend a lot of time at home. When I'm able to come home, like to be here."
