Bills put Matthews, Lawson on IR

Brandon Reilly gets his first regular season shot

Orchard Park, NY - The Bills placed WR Jordan Matthews and DE Shaq Lawson on injured reserve Tuesday, ending seasons for both.

Brandon Reilly and Cap Capi were brought up to the active roster as replacements.

Reilly was a fan favorite in the preseason. He caught 11 passes for 139 yards and had a touchdown against the Eagles that gave the Bills a late lead.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska. This will be the rookie's first chance to play in a regular season NFL game.

Matthews will finish his season with only 25 catches for 282 yards and one touchdown. He came over to Buffalo in the Ronald Darby trade during training camp. Matthews is a free agent after the season and no guarantee to be back in Buffalo next year.

Lawson is still yet to play a full season after being the Bills' first round pick in 2016. In 11 games this year, Lawson was fairly quiet. He will finish with four sacks, three tackles for a loss and forced fumble.

Capi is on his sixth NFL team in just three seasons. He played four games with the Giants earlier this season before being injured and then released.
