Schild misses out on Olympic medal

Stopped after first finals

Pyeongchang, South Korea - There will be no medals for American ladies in moguls skiing.

That includes Rochester's Morgan Schild.

Schild was knocked out after the first finals round, finishing in 15th place. Her score of 72.23 was exactly one point back of the 12th and final qualifying spot.

Three American women did advance to the second finals round, but all three finished outside the top six that earn a spot in the medal round. Jaelin Kauf and Keaton McCargo were the top U.S. skiers in 7th and 8th place, respectively.

Schild had the third best run in the first stage of qualifying and it allowed her to skip the second qualifying run. She was visibly disappointed by the results of her finals attempt.

She's 20 years old and certainly has a chance to compete again in 2022.
