Eichel has another high ankle sprain

Out 4-6 weeks

Buffalo, NY - For the second time in two season, Jack Eichel has a high ankle sprain.

The Sabres announced Sunday that Eichel would miss 4-6 weeks after leaving Saturday's game in Boston with a sprained right ankle.

Eichel missed the first six weeks of the season last year with a high sprain to his left ankle.

If Eichel returns after six weeks, he could still play the final two weeks and seven games this year.

The good news for the Sabres is that it wasn't worse.

"You talk about ligaments, that's a whole new ball game, surgery and things like that. So... that was the positive thing," Sabres coach Phil Housley said. "It's tough. He battled back last year from (a high ankle sprain). This year, just the way he was playing, I thought his game was really coming around the last two and a half months."
