Lanae-Tava Thomas signs NLI with USC

Rush Henrietta star is already focused on the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

ROCHESTER - Tuesday was signing day at Rush Henrietta and Lanae-Tava Thomas kept it a secret where she was heading.

The two-time Junior Olympic champion narrowed her choices down to two schools: USC and Miami

The classic east coast verse west coast debate.

Then Thomas unzipped her black sweatshirt to reveal the crimson and gold colors of the Trojans.

Through her laughed and smile spread ear to ear, Thomas managed to say, 'Fight on!'

Ranked No.8 on the MileSplit recruiting board, Thomas owns eight New York state titles, and already has her goals set beyond the Pac-12.

"Ever since I've been here everyone has heard me talk about 2020 Tokyo so I would love to go to the Olympics. They produced more Olympians than any other college I've seen so far," smiled Thomas.

"On the team there are two Olympic coaches, all the athletes are so academically beautiful and then athletically astounding. It's just amazing seeing all that and I feel like they can prepare me the best that I can."

Thomas added that it wasn't hard keeping her decision a secret but added now that it's over, she can finally sleep.
