Tuesday night, the Blue Devils got their revenge.
Victor led 5-4 at the half and gradually pulled away for a 12-8 win in the Class B title game Tuesday afternoon at Webster Schroeder.
The killer goal may have come at the third quarter buzzer when Luke Bartkowski whipped a shot in just a beat before the horn sounded to close the period. The rare lacrosse feat gave Victor a 9-6 after three quarters.
The Blue Devils scored twice to open the fourth quarter. Eric Haney's second lay-up goal in the second half made the score 11-6. Canandaigua got within 11-8, but the Blue Devils used a final tally from top scorer Ryan Maloney to seal the win.
It was Victor's first championship since 2003. The Blue Devils are now 16-3. Canandaigua finishes the year 14-5.
