Eric Haney scored less than seven minutes into the game and that was enough for (4)Victor to get past (5)Spencerport 1-0 in a Class B quarterfinal Saturday afternoon at Thomas Creek Ice Arena.

Goalies Christian Portland for Victor and Ryan Schirano for Spencerport put on a dazzling display of puck stopping. Especially Portland, as the Rangers buzzed the Victor net often in the first and second periods.

Schirano made arguably the save of the game in the second period, stopping a Victor breakaway shot with the butt end of his stick.

The Blue Devils advance to Wednesday's semifinal against (9)Penfield, who stunned top-seeded and second-ranked in the state Irondequoit 5-2 on Saturday. Faceoff for Victor and Penfield is 5pm at the Bill Gray's Iceplex on the campus of MCC.
