Glynn Molinich ran for 172 yards and two scores as Pittsford won a tough contest with Gates-Chili at Mendon Saturday. The 27-8 final score was not indicative of how close the game was.

After Gates took an 8-7 lead late in the second quarter, Henry Hoffend led the Panthers on a two-minute drill that ended with a 26 yard touchdown pass to Mac Atkins. Pittsford led 13-8 at the break.

Neither team moved the ball much in the third quarter. Finally in the fourth, Hoffend converted a 4th and 4 with a short pass to Atkins that gave Pittsford a first down inside the Gates-Chili 20. Two plays later, Molinich was in from four yards out to make it 20-8 Pittsford.

After stopping the Spartans on a 4th and 3 at the Pittsford 30, Nick Barclay capped the scoring with a 36 yard TD run.
