Winning in the sectional playoffs is nothing new for Aquinas. The top-ranked Irish punched a ticket to their 8th straight sectional championship game with a 28-7 win over #4 Pittsford in the Class AA semifinal.

Leading the charge for the Irish was Donato Clemente. He finished the afternoon with 89 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.

Clemente scored the game's opening touchdown late in the first quarter on a plunge from the 1-yard line. Pittsford was able to move the ball downfield on their next possession, but on 4th and Goal from the 2, their FG was blocked by Aquinas sophomore Ernest Edwards.

Clemente racked up two more TDs in the final 63 seconds of the first half to give the Irish a 21-0 lead at the break.

Aquinas will face Rush-Henrietta in the Section V Class AA championship.
