If the game hadnt ended, Austin Dwyer may still be running. The standout back rushed for a state playoff record 399 yards and four touchdowns leading Hornell over Westhill 49-7 in a Class B State Semifinal at Rochester Rhinos Stadium Saturday. The old record was 394 set by Genevas Jeremiah Allen in 2007. Dwyer also broke the Section Five single season rushing record formerly held by Schroeders Carl Garritano, who ran for 2,394 in 2002. Dwyer now has 2,680 and with one game remaining is a longshot for the sections first ever 3,000 yard rusher. Hornell plays the state final Sunday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Kickoff is 4pm.
