Mike Messina's long touchdown with two minutes remaining in the game finished a 24-13 Aquinas win over Harrison in the Class A state title game at the Carrier Dome Friday evening.

The Irish went up 14-0 at halftime thanks to a bruising Tim Young 29 yard touchdown run and a TD pass from Cory Benedetto to Chris Bostick. The 24 yard catch came on 4th and 18 and was a perfect throw to the back corner of the end zone.

Harrison scored the first two touchdowns of the second half, including the first on a deflected 4th down pass. Aquinas mixed in a field goal to lead by four when Harrison scored their final points with three minutes to go.

It's the 5th state title for the Lil' Irish.
