U.S. Patent Office Cancels Trademark Registration for the Washington Redskins

- The U.S. Patent Office has cancelled the NFL team's trademark registration saying it is offensive to Native Americans.  The move can't stop the team from using its Redskins logo, but now you can use it too, for free.  Oneida Indian Nation and the National Congress of American Indians are praising the move.  Both groups have rallied to get the team to change its name.
Today, some of the Redskins players reacted to the ruling.  Santana Moss, Wide Receiver, said, ""I am hoping at the end of the day whatever happened, it solves the problem and whoever is offended by it, that they're no longer offended by it because I am pretty sure it wasn't meant that way, but I am a Redskin and we wear it with pride.  We go out there and fight every Sunday and try to represent it the best way we can."

The Washington Redskins are expected to appeal the decision.
